Civil Engineer

Description:

Our client is a top civil engineering, planning, surveying and construction services firm who is currently hiring a Civil Engineer to join their land development team in either the Woodbridge, VA or Fairfax, VA area! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in the preparation of site layout, subdivision plan, site plan, public improvement plan, drainage study, grading study, floodplain study, adjoining owner notification, code update, cut sheet.

• Assistance will include utility layout (horizontal and vertical), grading, street design, SWM facilities, open channel flow, storm and sanitary sewer design, erosion siltation controls, BMP's and transportation engineering.

• Proficient use of ACAD 2004 and other relevant software required.

• Assist in the communication with clientele and local government agencies, i.e. attend any necessary meetings or conferences as needed.

• Assistance to the planning and surveying departments will be required as needed and as the workload permits, to include the preparation of feasibility studies, zoning submittals and survey functions as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred

• 2-10+ years of experience in civil engineering (land development design, stormwater management, sediment/erosion control, site grading, permitting, etc.)

• Proficiency/Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D

• EIT certification or PE license is preferred

• Experience with design and putting together site plans
