WSP is currently initiating a search for an entry level Civil Engineerfor our New York, NY office.

The successful candidate will, under close supervision, perform civil/highway tasks in support of a project's design, including development of horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, drainage, storm water management, right-of-way, earthwork modeling, quantity calculations, construction cost estimation, specifications and utility relocation schemes. The candidate will be contributing to project design, including development of roadway layout, grading, drainage, roadway sections, earthwork, quantity calculation and utility relocation themes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering

  • Proficiencies and relevant experience in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to immediately work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microstation and Geopak.

  • Previous intern experience in A/E industry.

Job Responsibilities: * Prepare and review drawings ranging from feasibility studies to detailing final design and construction documents * Roadway design: horizontal & vertical alignments, profiles, cross-sections, corridors and pavements, drainage, grading, utilities, site planning, regulatory approvals, construction staging, MPT plans, signing & striping * Execute 3D models in a BIM design environment * Execute system design calculations and prepare client reports Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering * 3 years of professional work experience * EIT/FE desired * Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley Power/InRoads * Good communication skills (written and verbal) essential for team-based working * Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced multitasked environment * Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges * Experience working with transportation agencies such as NYCDOT, NYSDOT, PANYNJ, NYCDDC, NJDOT, and NJTA is preferred.
