Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice therefore we have a need for a civil designer to assist on civil engineering projects.
Directs others personnel in routine engineering/design work as they are assigned by the design supervisor or Project Manager
Oversees drawings produced by others as well as producing drawings
Leads and coordinates design for projects
Assures deliverables are prepared in compliance with established standards, checked and readied for issue on schedule
Works closely with assigned designers to develop design drawings for projects
Assists design supervisor and Project Manager on proposals as directed
Responsible for drawing package correctness and quality
Lead position for assigned design projects
Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements
Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, project design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing
Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems
Directs integration of technical activities and products
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases
Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget
Prepares interim and completion project reports
Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs
Previous quality checking experience
Other job functions as assigned
A minimum of 8 years of design experience or equivalent is required
Advanced knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCad and AVEVA E3D is required
Capable of directing other designers
Good oral and written communication skills is required
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required
Capable of acting as a Design Supervisor as required
Must be able to complete assigned projects on time and within budgets
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously required
Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
