This position will be located in our Energy Corridor office on the west side of Houston.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Comprehends and identifies issues and analyzes the situation to propose solutions.

  • Seeks out assistance for complex issues.

  • Little to no supervision required to apply standard correctly to civil design.

  • Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization.

  • Complete as-builts by utilizing Request for Information (RFIs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and red-marked drawings from construction.

Communicates effectively with supervisor and members of immediate department

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or High School diploma + 2 years' experience as a minimum.

  • 4-10 year minimum relevant experience in civil design of land development, roadway design and civil engineering related projects.

  • Strong technical background in general site civil design, drainage systems, grading and roads/paving.

  • Knowledgeable in multiple engineering design software. ACAD Civil 3D experience is a must.

  • Receives little to no instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignment from more experienced engineer. Receives guidance on high risk or advanced conditions.

  • Can provides guidance to less experienced engineers.

  • Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.

VIEW JOBS 12/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-19T00:00 Civil CAD Designer CEI Engineering is seeking a CAD Designer to join our Houston, TX office. The CAD Designer will provide AutoCAD design and drafting support for various civil site development projects from conceptual phase through construction documents. Tasks will include developing small and large scale commercial, industrial, public works, and parks/recreation projects. Top candidates will have previous civil design experience in a consulting firm environment. Responsibilities * Develop complete sets of site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D including site geometry, utility, erosion and sediment control, grading/drainage plans and details in accordance with client and CEI design standards * Analyze surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and the best approach in developing and completing projects on time and on budget * Complete redlines and plan revisions * Research and review deeds, ordinances, technical reports, municipal, state and federal codes to ensure compliance * Collaborate with project managers and design staff to provide status updates, discuss challenges, and address plan revisions * Other duties as assigned Requirements * One year CAD certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of training and experience * At least one year of CAD design experience * High proficiency with AutoCAD * Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred * Full range of visual depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors * Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and ability to occasionally travel overnight About Us CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. is a full service Civil Engineering, Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Land Surveying consulting firm.
