Civil Design Engineer, PE

Job Summary (Civil Design Engineer, PE): We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and planning of water distribution systems, with expertise in using AutoCAD Civil 3D for complex infrastructure projects. The position requires an individual who can work collaboratively with other engineers and stakeholders to develop efficient and sustainable water line designs that meet all local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities (Civil Design Engineer, PE):

• Design, plan, and manage water line projects from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with civil engineering standards.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, profiles, and layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, piping, site modeling, and utility layout.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and project documentation for permitting and construction.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and CAD technicians to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project requirements and ensure design integrity.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for water distribution systems.
• Assist in the preparation of project cost estimates, schedules, and technical specifications.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approval and implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support.

Qualifications (Civil Design Engineer, PE):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water line design and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil design software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, industry standards, and municipal codes.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HECRAS, HECHMS and/or Innovyze)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Preferred Skills (Civil Design Engineer, PE):

• Project management experience in civil infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of permitting processes, construction documentation, and municipal utility standards.
• Familiarity with GIS software and applications for water resource engineering.
