Civil Design Engineer - EIT

Summary- Civil Design Engineer- EIT: JARBO Employment Group is currently assisting a forward-thinking Civil/Structural Engineering firm identify 1-2 Civil Staff Engineers to join their growing Kansas City office.  The company as a whole has grown 150% in the past few years and continuing that trajectory while remaining consistent in the quality being provided in the market sectors they support.  This firm supports both private and public site development projects and provides a great culture and environment to continue growing and progressing in the Civil discipline!

Position Duties and Responsibilities- Civil Design Engineer- EIT:

• Ability to work independently and with others, with a minimum level of supervision.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Knowledge and high degree of skill in determining project requirements, setting the project scope of work, determining design budgets, determining preliminary construction budgets, and review of contracts.
• Ability to complete projects on time and on budget while meeting project goals.
• High degree of understanding and ability to communicate and coordinate with other Division and members of the Design Team.
• Aware of and able to comply with the overall project construction and design budget, schedule, and contract requirements.
• Prepare Engineers Opinion of probability cost for responsible section of work.
• Incorporate / adapt / develop schematic design and design development work with project team to produce final construction documents.
• Incorporate, create and/or supervise the creation of the project basis of design criteria for use by the design team.
• Perform quality control reviews at appropriate milestones.
• Coordinate team members to achieve project goals and schedules.
• Produce computerized calculations and equipment selections.
• Write, edit, and coordinate contract specifications.
• Incorporate design concepts and documents from schematic design information.
• Conduct field survey to document existing conditions.

Qualifications- Civil Design Engineer- EIT:

• Minimum of a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college is required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
• Has passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE/EIT)
• Preferred Professional Engineering Licensure in the location of practice.

*Base salary listed will be accompanied by bonus potential and straight time pay over 40 hours/week.
