A growing, mid-sized Civil Consulting firm has an immediate opening for a CAD Technician in their Indianapolis, IN, operation (South Side). The CAD Technician will be responsible for modeling and drafting Water Treatment Facilities and Wastewater Treatment Facilities. This person will primarily utilize Civil 3D to create 3D models of Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants for local Municipal clients. In addition, this person will use AutoCAD to create 2D Construction Drawings of Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems.

This is a long-term career opportunity in a recession-proof industry, and there will be on-the-job training involved for responsibilities specific to Civil 3D and Water/Wastewater projects. Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with projects engineers on design activities

• Support Senior CAD specialists with 2D and 3D designs

• Prepare engineering drawings for construction

• Assist with quantity take-offs

• GIS figure development

• Preparing water & wastewater construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Working with Civil Project Engineers and Project Managers on design activities related to water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems

• Preparing report figures for projects

• Assisting in field work when needed (construction inspection and oversight, surveying)

• Supporting other related engineering and design needs as they arise

Job Requirements:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D design software

• Professional Experience in Drafting, including but not limited to:

• Create, edit, view, and analyze surfaces.

• Create and edit alignments.

• Create sites, profiles, and cross-sections.

• Create grading solutions.

• Create gravity-fed and pressure pipe networks.

• Use plan production tools to create plan and profile sheets.

• Experience Drafting for Civil, Structural, Construction, or Related projects

Schedule:

• The standard work schedule will include Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm EST: plus Friday from 7am to 11am EST.

• Candidates are also welcomed to work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm EST, if they prefer.

• Employees average between 44-45 hours per week.

• Office is South Side of Indianapolis, IN.

Compensation:

• CAD Specialist I = $21.00/hour to $28.50/hour

• Knows AutoCAD and maybe a little Civil 3D

• No to little professional experience or civil industry experience

• CAD Specialist II = $28.00/hour to $35.50/hour

• Professional experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• 3 to 5 years of drafting experience in a professional setting

• Minimum of a year of drafting experience in the Civil Industry

• CAD Specialist III = $35.50/hour to $41.50/hour

• Very proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD, probably knows other civil design software as well

• 5 to 10 years of drafting experience in the Civil Industry

• Has significant experience drafting water / wastewater systems

• Ability to train and mentor others
