As Colorado's largest adult sports organization, Denver CityWide Sports offers a variety of youth and adult sports programs as a part of the progressive Denver Parks & Recreation Department. CityWide Sports utilizes a variety of sports fields and recreation centers throughout the metro Denver area to offer over 175 different Coed, Men's and Women's leagues taking place weekday evenings and on weekends. Our League Supervisors are an integral of providing high quality service to both teams and individuals of a wide range of skill levels. In addition, our League Supervisors get the perks of getting to meet and know sports enthusiasts throughout the city all while earning additional income.

CityWide Sports is seeking League Supervisors for our Adult Kickball, Softball, & Volleyball Leagues. Our Leagues run from April through the Fall and take place after regular work hours and on weekends. The position requires League Supervisors to be onsite attendants for league games and will be responsible for:

  • Set up and break down of field equipment

  • Score-keeping and officiating

  • Managing game rosters

  • Ensuring participant safety and enforcing program rules

  • Having fun and ensuring a fun experience for participants

Individual hours will vary between 5-30 hours a week including Monday through Friday evenings with some Saturday and/or Sunday hours.

This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedule.

About You

We are looking for Kickball, Softball, and Volleyball enthusiasts interested in having an active role in the CityWide Sports League. Our League Supervisors are there before and after the game for set up and break down, are highly organized and reliable, and ensure that games run smoothly for a safe, fun experience for all participants. Our League Supervisors are not afraid to make calls, enforce rules, and diffuse game conflicts all while maintaining a positive, upbeat, and calm demeanor.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification

  • Competitive playing experience at an intermediate level or higher or instructional experience in Kickball, Softball, and/or Volleyball

  • Previous officiating , score-keeping, and/or league supervision experience

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate

  • Experience: One (1) year of experience in assisting in the operation and instruction of organized recreation activities

  • Licensures/Certification(s): Requires a valid Driver's License at time of application. Requires certification in CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment

  • Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements

Learn the fundamentals of numerous team sports including basketball, volleyball, flag football, soccer, baseball, softball, coach pitch, t-ball, cheerleading, and gymnastics. Youth Sports is looking to hire Non-Certified Sports Officials for the Winter basketball season. Non-Certified Sports Officials officiate recreational activities and provide assistance to the recreation supervisor and staff. These Sports Officials will officiate games for youth, ages 9 - 17 years and adult league games. Games are held throughout Denver's network of parks, recreation centers and sports facilities. * Officiating at sports events that requires certification including basketball, volleyball, kickball, t-ball, softball, baseball, and lacrosse, which may include leagues of youth and young adults to maintain that game rules are observed * Communicates with other sporting officials, coaches, facility managers, subordinates or the public by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person in order to provide information, coordinate activities and discuss problems * Inspects playing surface or field to ensure that it meets the regulations of the sanctioning body and is safe for the players. Inspects sporting equipment and/or examine participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations * Signals participant or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play.
