City of Henderson AmeriCorps Program

The City of Henderson AmeriCorps Program is seeking AmeriCorps applicants to be Academic Enrichment Specialists that will serve at one of five Safekey locations, each based at an elementary school within the City of Henderson until May 20th. The program will take place Monday-Friday in afternoons between 3:00pm-6:00pm aligned with the school calendars.

Beginning on May 27th, Academic Enrichment Specialists will serve at Battle Born Kids Summer Camp at various Parks and Recreation venues. Programming includes homework help, mentoring, social emotional skill-building, and engaging STEM and Literacy activities at each site in multipurpose rooms and outdoor spaces. Training on health and safety, behavior management, parent engagement, social-emotional learning, and engaging program content will be provided.

The City of Henderson AmeriCorps Program has 17 Half-Time Positions (900 hrs)currently open. Benefits: Living Allowance amount of $11,700.00 and $3,447.50 Segal Education Award offered for successful completion of the term of service.

Member Duties : Assist students with homework, improve social-emotional skills, research and plan engaging activities for students, facilitate enrichment activities focused on STEM and Literacy content areas, and mentor youth. The above functions may be completed with or without reasonable accommodations.
