As a Three Quarter-Time AmeriCorps member, you'll be at the forefront of combating food insecurity and spreading crucial nutrition and public health education. What You'll Do: • Supporting WIC Families: Your service will involve shopping for groceries and delivering them to families enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. • Educating and Empowering:

Member Duties : Mitigate food insecurity of WIC participants. Respectfully communicate with WIC participants to schedule services, obtain grocery lists, and assess the food access and nutrition education needs of each family served.

Shop for Bastrop County WIC participants' groceries according to what they specifically request from their WIC Shopping List at WIC approved stores (HEB, Wal-Mart, Lonestar Family Market, etc.) using their WIC benefits card. Deliver breastpump and/or breastfeeding supplies. Attend required trainings and meetings for the WIC Shopping & Delivery Team.
