Team Description

The CIB Operations - Robotics and Innovation team sits within the CAO and is responsible for managing an overall portfolio of innovation programs and driving such programs to achieve the overall efficiency goals of the CAO. Strategic initiatives in the portfolio currently include robotics process automation, cognitive automation such as machine learning, and other artificial intelligence related initiatives. The team also takes on other tactical initiatives on a case-by-case basis, focused on finding opportunities to generate additional efficiencies across CIB Operations.

The team is looking for high performing Analyst/ Associate to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of current automation programs. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to new technologies being implemented within financial services and will require partnership with representatives from across the organization including Business, Finance, Operations and Technology groups, as well as working with external stakeholders, i.e., vendors and market utilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Strong experience in leading and driving Change Management across lines of businesses

Preferred experience in Robotics and Machine Learning

Process and Technical experience to understand business

Stakeholder management and Senior Management presence

Overall program governance and ownership of key messaging to stakeholders and Leadership

Collaboration with cross-functional SMEs to identify, implement, and accurately track automation related initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to:

Partnering with Operations to identify potential candidates and manual processes for automation

Working with Technology to ensure delivery against prioritized items

Working with Finance to ensure automation related efficiencies are accurately tracked and reflected in the firms financials

Accountability to track and escalate potential issues that may warrant senior management attention to prevent progress against program goals

Act as the single point of contact for all questions/ queries related to automation programs within the teams purview from across the CIB

Strong influencing capabilities and experience to drive idea generation workshops to build pipeline for automation

Overall people mgmt. responsibility to manage senior trained associate level staff

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Prior experience of plan management and analysis in Strategy Consulting, or Financial Services

Logical and structured approach to planning, problem-solving, and decision making

Effective presentation skills with working knowledge of PowerPoint

Strong prioritization and organizational skills

Strong analytical skills - experience with Excel and manipulating large data sets is highly desirable

High degree risk and controls awareness

Ability to communicate clearly and confidently; able to influence internal and external stakeholders

Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture

Morgan Global Market Infrastructure is responsible for selection and management of the network of agent banks used by the firm. In this role, the group covers the purchasing and maintenance of securities services (custody and clearing) and cash services (payments and other foreign currency services) for LOBs firm-wide. Currently the network spans approximately 500 agent banks, including sub-custodians, Nostro account relationships, and cash agent/partner banks in over 100 markets. The team works closely with these agents and regulatory authorities in each country to identify market practices, tax rules & strategies, and rules associated with foreign investment. Network Management supports the whole of the CIB – TS, CFS, Markets, Prime Services, Asset Management & Wealth Management. The group's key strengths are in depth market knowledge, expertise in buying, and strong project management. The team provides a global focus for the firm in order to leverage buying power worldwide, developing outsourcing initiatives, and management of the associated risks. Focused on the performance of the Network, Network Performance Management (NPM) interfaces with over 17 operational areas in the firm managing projects involving agent banks and Financial Markey Infrastructures (FMI), resolving escalated issues, understanding network and market risks, and providing MIS analysis. Role Description: Responsible for Agent Service Delivery, seeking opportunities for service improvements, keeping abreast of industry developments, coordinating both cash related product and market driven changes from a J.P. Morgan operational perspective, as well as serving as a point of escalation for qualified operational matters. Based in Newark or New York, the incumbent will need to forge strong relationships with the operational and relationship managers of the supported Cash, Securities, Fund Services operations areas across the CIB, Asset & Wealth Management, as well as various internal business and product managers. It is expected the person in this role will assist in developing and managing the strategy for implementing a culture of agent driven self-improvement management, via the increased use of MIS and business engagement. The Network Performance Management team is responsible for: Contributing to market and agent specific projects as required (e.g., ad hoc projects). Understanding operational needs – both new requirements and adjustments on existing services. Investigating and resolving escalated enquiries & service issues, including agent oversight via the Enhanced Agent Oversight process. Building relationships with internal departments, agents & FMI's. Conducting service reviews and hosting agents & FMI visits. Supporting the due diligence on correspondent banks for RFPs, transitions & market openings. Ensuring RFI/RFP/SLA MIS requirements are supported without impacting delivery. These critical documents ensure the correct agent service provider is selected and performs as expected. Keep abreast of industry developments and provide input and coordination when required. Producing and distributing of monthly project updates to communicate achievements and ongoing activities. The role involves forging strong relationships both with the agent banks and across the LOBs and Global Market Infrastructure in order to ensure our service requirements are met by the agent banks and industry / market challenges are appropriately managed through the Enhanced Agent Oversight (EAO) framework.
