  • Under close supervision, receives assignments and reviews claim and policy information to provide background for investigation and may determine the extent of the policy's obligation to the insured depending on the line of business.

  • Contacts and obtains pertinent loss details from insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc. to secure necessary claim information.

  • Depending on line of business may inspect and appraise damage for property losses or arranges for such appraisal.

  • Evaluates facts supplied by investigation to determine extent of liability of the insured, if any, and extent of the company's obligation to the insured under the policy contract.

  • Prepares reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluation of involved parties etc.

  • Sets reserves within authority limits and recommends reserve changes to Supervisor.

  • Reviews progress and status of claims with Supervisor and discusses problems and suggested remedial actions.

  • Prepares and submits to Supervisor unusual or possible undesirable exposures.

  • Assists Supervisor in developing methods and improvements for handling claims.

  • Settles claims promptly and equitably.

  • Obtains releases, proofs of loss or compensation agreements and issues company drafts in payments for claims.

  • Informs claimants, insureds/customers or attorney of denial of claim when applicable.

  • Knowledge of insurance industry

VIEW JOBS 1/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-16T00:00 The Chubb Global Services (CGS) group focuses on delivering superior clients services to Chubb's multinational business across Chubb's diverse product line. The CGS Finance group oversees global money movement, billing and collections of reinsurance and deductibles, reporting, and overall multinational guidance and strategy. Reporting Relationship: The role will report to Chubb Global Services Assistant Vice President of Claims Billing. The individual will communicate directly with internal management and other interdepartmental groups to resolve issues and provide ad hoc support when requested. There will also be opportunities to interact directly with our customers to help resolve issues or concerns. Key Responsibilities The role is responsible for managing a set of accounts for Foreign and US produced Multinational Business. The analyst is responsible for calculating, billing, and notifying the insured and reinsurers of invoices on behalf of Foreign Casualty, Medical Risk and Foreign National Business Units. This involves notifying insured/reinsurers on a timely basis, preparation of billing packages to ensure accurate billing. Some work will pertain to complex claim issues and may involve difficult presentations to external and internal contacts. Role will also require the individual to create and execute special projects relating to the teams Quality Control of claims that have steadily increased as a result of changes within our billing system platform. * Read an Interpret Binders, policy endorsements, and Reinsurance Agreements on complex cash flow accounts produced from US and overseas offices * Confirm and document interpretation with Underwriters * Work with Global Services and Overseas offices to provide presentations on billing capabilities as well as implementation for successful processing of loss billing. * Create the appropriate insured and reinsurance calculations, in multiple currencies, in FIRST from weekly feeds for payments and reserves * Provide technical training to staff on applications, international loss flow, and underwriting practices * Work independently on system enhancements and any new business study that requires system changes to our claims reinsurance process * Quality Control and approve manual calculations * Create and execute special projects relating to quality control of our claims stat and accounting practices and provide additional insight for corrective actions * Manage and take action on workflows and reports created from weekly load for appropriate attachment to contracts for billing. Qualifications * B.S. degree in Insurance, Business, or additional related field * 2 to 3 year's Multinational Claims Reinsurance experience a plus * Knowledge of FIRST application preferred * Must possess strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills * Excellent communications skills to articulate to various levels of internal and external management within a global environment. * Advanced skill level in Microsoft products is required (Excel and Access) Chubb Wilmington NC
