Chorus Director - Mary Lubko Center - Part Time

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for the overall operation of the chorus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelors degree in music or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must have good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Select music.

• Attend concerts.

• Supervise and conduct rehearsals.

• Supervise accompanist and volunteers.

• Work closely with participants on music selection.

• Communicates performance details to chorus.

• Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.

• Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.

• Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.

Must have and maintain: valid drivers license with acceptable driving record; and CPR/AED certified or obtain within six (6) months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently remain in a stationary position and repetitively use hands/arms,/fingers as when using a computer; occasionally move and position ones self to move items such as music supplies, etc. up to 10lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: handle all weather conditions while traveling between facilities, frequently work indoors.

SALARY

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour DOE

HOURS

Wednesdays 8:45 a.m.to 11:45 a.m. (September thru May) Including 6-8 offsite performances each year.
