POSITION TITLE: Choir Teacher - Grades 9-12
QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper certification through the Arkansas Department of Education
REPORTS TO: Principal, assistant principals and fine arts coordinator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Work collaboratively with a Professional Learning Community, including middle school choir teachers.
Consistently implement a variety of effective, research-based instructional strategies to engage learners in learning the essential standards.
Design instructional plans with attention to individual student abilities and interests.
Monitor and assess student progress frequently, using both formative and summative assessments, and provide progress reports as requested.
Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners, re-teaching when needed and extending learning for others.
Create a classroom environment that reflects respectful interactions between students and teachers, as well as student to student, while using effective procedures to support all learners.
Meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
Effectively implement district initiatives.
Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures and resources.
Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
Job responsibilities will be in collaboration with the middle school choral director(s) and fine arts coordinator.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Remain current on instructional practices in education.
