Children's Program "Paintbox" Manager

SUMMARY

The Children's Activities Manager also known as the Paintbox Manager is responsible for design and execution of all educational programs that involve children in the resort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job Duties include although are not limited to:

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Paintbox department.

  • Direct management of the daily program.

  • Interview, hire and train the staff and coordinate additional staff members from other departments.

  • Strategize, organize and execute all special event activities for special occasions, holidays, summer and winter programs and special requests for groups and social functions.

  • Design and implement educational/teaching programs that use the natural resources surrounding the resort. Art and craft enrichment programs will be daily activities within Paintbox that challenge the use of children's imagination. All conceptual design and execution of these original programs will be the responsibility of the Paintbox manager.

  • Develop, implement and maintain new procedures for Paintbox operations that improve the guest experience.

  • Properly communicate with the resort staff and resort guests all upcoming programs and offerings within Paintbox and family activities.

  • Attend necessary meetings for constant communication including managers, staff and rooms meetings.

  • Maintain profitability of Paintbox to support overall resort operation.

  • Maintain a budget, payroll control, supply management, amenity offerings while evaluating the cost effectiveness of the operation.

  • Develop and create a Standard Operating Procedure and training program for the Paintbox programs to be used for future Montage projects.

  • Manage the marketing of Paintbox. This includes communication with the marketing department on new programs to be included in the resort newsletter.

  • Develop and distribute collateral for Paintbox to all arrivals in the resort.

  • Maintain relationships and communication with past and future guests with pre and post visit correspondence.

  • Develop relationships and work with department heads to ensure the successful operation of Paintbox.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience with children.

  • Luxury Hotel or Resort experience preferred.

  • Strong passion for customer service; experience handling and resolving guest concerns in a timely manner

  • Must be organized

  • Strong verbal communication skills-ability to communicate effectively with guests and vendors

  • Have a vast array of knowledge about children's activities applicable to Park City

  • Able to become CPR/ First Aid Certified

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by Resort environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures, possibly for one hour or more. Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. The pay range for this position is $66,000 to $70,000.

The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position. Please let us know if you have any questions.
