Qualifications:Level 4 Northern Lights Early Childhood Career Ladder required- BA in ECE or related field and 1 year experience working with children Birth to Age 8.ONGOING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Attends training programs and other on-going educational programs related to the position, meets 15 hours per year annual training BFIS requirement. Requirements:PAPERWORK AND LICENSING : The Teacher Coordinator will ensure that paperwork required for the Afterschool program to meet VT CDD Licensing Requirements is met. They will work with families to complete Child Care Financial Assistance Paperwork to obtain a certificate before a child begins the program, and before the renewal deadline is complete to ensure children's enrollment and attendance in the program.

CURRICULUM AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Responsible for leading a group of kindergarten to third graders with the support of an Assistant Teacher- Coordinator. Plans, supervises, and implements the program in accordance with policies and philosophy.

Implements the chosen curriculum to fidelity. Creates lesson plans that reflect children's individual needs, including those with disabilities and other special needs. Screens children for developmental, physical, and social-emotional concerns and engages in an ongoing assessment process for children in support of the development and school readiness.

Seeks family input and insight into their child's development and engages in planning for individualized services.Create and maintain an atmosphere in which children and their families feel welcome, valued, comfortable, and secure. Ensure physical environment is clean, safe, and inviting; is stimulating and conducive to learning; is respectful of the children's cultures and ethnic diversity and reflects the needs of the children served; and that space in the classroom is well organized into easily recognizable functional areas. Adhere to all regulations regarding safety, evacuation procedures, fire drill, etc.

Must ensure compliance of the Vermont Child Development Division Licensing standards and regulations. Must ensure that children are supervised at all times.PROGRAM MAINTENANCE: Assist with the orderly arrangement and general appearance of the program/ classroom including, but not limited to, maintaining and ordering supplies and materials, monitoring equipment, cleaning up at mealtime and playtime.RECORD KEEPING:

Monitors and supervises each child's progress through individual assessments and record keeping. Oversees children's daily records, including daily attendance, and correspondence with a child's school, and ensures that reports are sent home daily.FAMILY ENGAGEMENT: Conducts two parent teacher conferences per year at mutually convenient times for families, may be outside of program hours.

Supports the coordination of regular family engagement- weekly in the summer program and up to twice per month during the school year program. Contributes program information for the parent newsletter. Assists the center manager with providing information to prospective family and visitor inquiries about the program. SUPERVISION: Provides leadership and supervision for Afterschool Teacher Assistant(s), volunteers, work-study students and interns including, but not limited to, onboarding, providing training, and writing performance evaluations.Compensation details: 22.21-22.21 Hourly WagePI847a22b2015c-25660-33173440
