Childrens Mental Health Practitoner

Hiring Bonus of $1000.00 to external candidates

We are seeking a Children's Mental Health Practitioner to work with our New Hope Mental Health Clinic. This position has a start date of January 2023.The Mental Health Practitioner is Responsible for planning and leading daily Children's Therapeutic Support Services (CTSS) skills. The majority of the work will be embeded in a school site doing CTSS skills work. The Mental Health Practitioner will lead both individual and group skill sessions, complete timely documentation, and deliver an individualized plan of care consistent with the client goals and objectives from their individualized treatment plan. Will work in conjunction with the client's therapists, school supports, families, and community supports in the development and delivery of services. Will use a trauma informed and person-centered approach to service provision.

Hours: Part-Time

  • Full-Time positions available. Monday

  • Friday regular Business hours

Hiring Range: $22.91 - $24.44

Required Qualifications:

  • An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner in at least one of the ways described in paragraph below

  • through relevant coursework if the individual completes at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and:

  • has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with:

  • A mental illness or a substance use disorder OR

  • A traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to a client

  • Is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the individual's clients belong and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to a client;

  • Is working in a day treatment program under section 256B.0671, subdivision 3, or 256B.0943; or

  • Has completed a practicum or internship that (i) required direct interaction with adult clients or child clients, and (ii) was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.

  • An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner through work experience if the individual:

  • has at least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with:

  • receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement in clause (1) of 4,000 hours of experience and has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with:

  • Has at least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with

  • A mental illness or a substance use disorder; or

  • A traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to clients; or

  • Receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement in clause (1) of 4,000 hours of experience and has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with

  • A traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to clients.

  • An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner if the individual has a master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.

Main Job Duties:

  • Using and modeling person-centered principles, actively engage clients in their mental health recovery, and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.

  • Partner with therapists and school staff in carrying out the activities in support of goals identified in client's individual treatment plan.

  • Actively participate in all team meetings, case consultations meetings, and agency trainings sharing relevant developments and/or expertise with other team members and advancing the reputation of services provided.

  • Facilitate and conduct individual and group CTSS skills services that address a variety of needs and health concerns for the client.
