Pediatric Day Healthcare Center- Teacher / Classroom Aide

Position Overview

Join our team at Aveanna Healthcare's Pediatric Day Healthcare Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where you'll have the opportunity to provide compassionate care to medically fragile children. We're looking for a dedicated individual with experience who is eager to expand their skills in a supportive, child-focused environment.

Teacher / Classroom Aide Position Details:

• Interact with children ages birth to 8 years old in a supportive, developmentally appropriate center-based setting.
• Provide care and assistance alongside nurses to meet each child's Plan of Care.
• Create and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment to promote learning and development through story time, art, play activities, and projects.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and communicate with staff, therapists, and parents about upcoming activities.
• Help keep the classroom clean and organized, manage supplies, and maintain updated bulletin boards.
• Actively collaborate with caregivers (nurses and therapists) to create a therapeutic environment that fosters each child's growth.

Qualifications for Teacher / Classroom Aide Position:

• Experience working with young children in a health care or child-care setting.
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification (can be obtained during orientation).
• Compassionate, child-friendly mindset with strong patience and flexibility.
