General Function:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Childcare Provider is responsible for providing childcare and educational enrichment for children of caregivers attending Ready, Set, Go! program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible to provide children with educational enrichment opportunities while also providing supervision and childcare for children ages 1 to 12 years
- Ensure children are safe and must be able to provide management of conflicts with children effectively
- Ensure that MFS childcare provider rules and policies are followed consistently
- Work effectively with at-risk children providing a safe and supportive environment for each child under care
- Work within agency policies, and uphold confidentiality of children and their families
- Comply with Metropolitan Family Service policies and procedures

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED certificate or relevant, related equivalent experience
- Experience providing childcare and enrichment to various age ranges of children (1 to 12 years of age)
- Experience with academic enrichment programs is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred
Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work evening hours is required.
MFS requires all employees and volunteers to complete a criminal background check which includes a fingerprint background check. We review the results of all background checks individually and consider all of the circumstances of any issues that arise in a background check during the hiring process.
Personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland Metropolitan area in a timely manner. If driving a personal vehicle must maintain a valid driver license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance coverage and a driving record permitting coverage under the agency auto liability policy.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment, at community events, and/or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend or evening work. Position requires ability to sit for extended periods as well as stand occasionally. Position requires use of computer, telephone, fax machine, copier and may require accessing locations by use of stairs.
