Job Description

The Child Care Lead assists the Coordinator in ensuring our youngest guests and their parents are provided with the highest quality of guest service. Organizes the day to day activities within the Children's Center to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Coaches and monitors teachers in the classrooms and provides regular feedback and support.

The budgeted pay range for this position starts at $25.50. Housing is guaranteed. All of our childcare roles may be eligible for a county provided stipend.

Applications for this position will be accepted until October 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 Winter Season.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operations at the Children's Center in conjunction with the Coordinator

  • Lead group activities for children including indoor and outdoor play, crafts, games, nap time, skiing and other recreational activities

  • Create and foster a productive and healthy team environment and monitor the performance of staff offering timely feedback and coaching

  • Assist Coordinator with staff training, scheduling, and performance reviews

  • Ensures appropriate practices and curriculum are being used and implemented according to best practice and department guidelines

  • Responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Degree in a related field required or extensive documented experience in working with children ages 3 and under required; must meet guidelines outlined in Colorado State Licensing

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently with groups of children required

  • Strong understanding of child development preferred

  • Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese preferred

Additional Information

Supervision given: Exercises general supervision over Child Care Attendants. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Supervision received: Works under general supervision of the Program Coordinator. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor's directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required

  • Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces

  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
