The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, Division of Family & Community Services is recruiting for a Child Welfare Supervisor in our Twin Falls Field Office for the Children & Family Services Program. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for leadership and supervision for a team of professional child welfare social workers with combined workload of safety assessment and case management.
Example of Duties
Supervises a team of professional staff
Develops and implements unit work plans
Ensures quality of service delivery activities
Evaluate employee performance, assess staff training needs and provide training
Prepares monthly statistics to determine trends and services needs
Provides input into program policies, goals, and procedures
Assigns caseloads, directs practice and provide consultation to ensure agency practice standards are met
Provides and coordinates emergency and crisis intervention services
Develops support and service partnerships and expanded community options for children and families in cooperation with community groups
Participates on special projects and ad hoc committees
Serves as a member of the Region's Management Team
Ensures quality of service delivery, assessments, and reports
Provides consultation, technical assistance and training to the community
Licensure as a Social Worker in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3201 et.seq.
Some knowledge of supervisory practices
Some knowledge of community organization/development principles and processes
Four years experience as a Social Worker in assessment or case management of child protection cases. A Master of Social Work Degree may substitute for one year of the required experience. Assessment or case management experience in another public child welfare system or child welfare agency may substitute on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years. Considerable knowledge of supervisory practices and/or supervisory experience in a related human services field may substitute for two years of the required experience.
