JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Consultant will serve as a Child Welfare Federal Compliance Specialist for the MAXIMUS Consulting Division. This position will interface with various clients on a regular basis to perform project responsibilities, maintain good client relations, and resolve issues. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as a subject matter expert in Child Welfare Federal Compliance, including Title IV-E and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) eligibility and fiscal requirements. Completes timely and accurate reviews of Title IV-E eligibility case records and data Provides technical assistance related to compliance with Federal programs relevant to child welfare Analyzes complex data and identify patterns, recommend actions, and measure outcomes Establishes and maintains effective relationships with clients and other external entities Participates in proposal writing activities Performs other duties as assigned by managementEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing services to government Human Services organizations, preferably in the field of Child Welfare Strong subject matter expertise in Child Welfare Federal Compliance Experience in both government and private sector preferred Experience in managing caseloads and/or managing case management staff in Child Welfare agency preferred Understanding of Title IV-E eligibility criteria, preferred Strong interpersonal and team building skills, as well as an understanding of client relationship building are essential Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment Ability to execute many complex tasks simultaneously, and work as a team member as well as independently Must have the flexibility to travel to support other projects or activities, if needed Must live in the Indianapolis vicinity or have the ability to relocate to Indianapolis, Indiana
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support leadership in ensuring that the project is delivered to specifications, on time and within budget.
Develop initiative strategies for provider capacity building such as evaluating business models, creating training, recruitment, events participation, outreach approach, and support activities.
Work closely with management and work groups to create and maintain work plan documents.
Track the status and due dates of projects.
Manage relationships with project staff responsible for projects.
Produce regular weekly and monthly status reports, work plan status, target dates, budget, resource capacity and other, as well as, ad hoc reports as needed.
Collaborate with project managers on various initiatives and projects to track progress and provide support as necessary.
Create and maintain management plans and other deliverables.
Facilitate regular meetings and reviews.
Evaluate employee performance and recommend employees' needs and development opportunities to leadership.
Adhere to contract requirements and comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
Advanced degree preferred.
Develop solutions to highly complex problems which require a high degree of ingenuity and innovation.
Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
Solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.
Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards requiring a high level of interpersonal and technical skills.
Develop new applications based on professional principles and theories.
Viewed as expert in field within the organization.
