Under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance (DQA), the Quality Assurance and Compliance Specialist is responsible for the facilitation of activities related accreditation, state licensing, contracts/monitoring requirements, programmatic data collection and analysis, and background screening activities. The QAA assists with the agencys quality assurance activities as specified by the organizations policies and procedures and in accordance with relevant Federal and State laws. The QAA also assumes a lead role in special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in a human service related field from an accredited college or university and at least two years of experience in social work, childcare, education, or social service administration is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of human growth and development, a background in personnel practices, employment laws, licensing and monitoring requirements, and knowledge of social service accreditation standards (e.g., DCF Licensing, COA, JCAHO, CARF & EAGLE).

  • Knowledge of performance improvement theory and the ability to implement such programs.

  • Knowledgeable and proficient in computer technology, statistical analysis and information management systems.

  • Knowledge of investigatory strategies and protocols.

  • Must possess the interpersonal skills to develop strong professional relationships with funding and licensing entities.

  • Must possess the communication skills necessary to build collaborative interaction across all departments within The Childrens Home.

  • Must possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity and integrity.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, have excellent verbal and writing skills.

  • Must possess strong leadership qualities for promoting staff development, morale, and cooperative relationships among various departments.

  • Possess a fundamental understanding personnel background screening requirements and processes.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida Driver's License

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the DQA with the on-going Quality Assurance Plan and performance improvement activities of the agency;

  • Work with the DQA on the development of internal methods of monitoring and evaluating quality of service and compliance with rules and regulatory statues that are associated with quality and assist with the organization and monitoring of quality assurance/performance improvement projects;

  • Assist with the collection of data and helps to prepare quarterly and annual summaries of the aggregated findings of the quality assurance and performance improvement process;

  • Assist with activities of the organization related to State and Federal licensing, inspections by contract monitors, and accrediting entities;

  • Assist with the implementation of corrective action plans as required by regulatory entities when needed. Conduct follow-up review to ensure that recommendations/changes were implemented and maintained;

  • Assist the DQA with helping to provide liaison guidance and assistance to all areas for overall agency program coordination in meeting licensing requirements and funding entity mandates;

  • Review and drafts/updates policies and procedures when necessary.

  • Assist with or facilitate training as necessary for Quality Assurance, and other related topics in coordination with FUMCH Director of Training;

  • Assist with efforts related to obtaining accreditation through entities such as The Council on Accreditation, EAGLE, and the Teaching Family Association;

  • Routinely monitor the background screening process to ensure background checks are conducted in a timely manner as required by statute, rule, and contract and required reports are submitted as appropriate;

  • Coordinate efforts with DCF Protective Investigators;

  • Perform all other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
