Job Description
Provides support, advocacy, and case management to child abuse victims and their families through the provision, coordination, and collaboration of internal and external services and resources.
Experience
2 years of experience with children and/or parents
Experience in case-tracking software programs and database management
Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated professional knowledge of child abuse
Demonstrated effectiveness working with families in crisis
Strong time management and organization skills
Strong oral and written skills
Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher within 30 days of date of employment
Job Responsibilities
Works with child protection social worker and/or nurse practitioner to assess family needs and ensure appropriate linkage to community resources.
Makes necessary referrals or works with referring agency to facilitate needed services.
Engages in follow-up contact with families and other participating agencies, e.g., law enforcement and Division of Family and Children Services case managers.
Documents case activity related to family contact and agency intervention in a complete and concise manner both in the patient file and state case tracking system.
Facilitates non-offending parenting support group.
Facilitates pre/post conference for all forensic interview/exam cases.
Initiates phone interviews, case coordination, and schedules all forensic interview/exam and commercial sexual exploitation of children cases.
Coordinates communication for all Division of Family and Children Services cases related to forensic interviews/exams.
Manages follow-up screening/assistance with law enforcement for designated cases at 3-, 6-, and 9-month increments.
Assists families in completing and submitting claims for victim services and benefits, e.g., reimbursement for medical and mental health services, lost income/wages.
Maintains consistent contact with court system and/or statewide case tracking system to determine case outcomes.
Actively participates in multidisciplinary case staffing with referral agencies, e.g., Fulton, DeKalb, and commercially sexually exploited children multidisciplinary team.
Attends regular staff meetings, case review meetings, and other meetings as required to provide updates, discuss problematic cases, identify service gaps, and develop action plans.
