Duties:Must adhere to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's Policies and Procedures. Evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of social/emotional diagnoses and developmental disabilities.
Provides therapeutic interventions to children and their families. Actively engage families in the therapeutic/educational process and creativity implement this process (unconventional hours, home visits, high visibility at community events). Creates and implements programs for the Child Development Center, after school and summer youth programs. Creates and runs skills (coping, social, anger management, bullying prevention, relaxation, etc.) groups with a vast range of ages.
Advocates within school systems and is an active participant in school meetings. Develops and maintains a working relationship with relevant community service providers. Works effectively as a team member.
Works effectively with diverse cultures. Must maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Complete required clinical documentation according to agency standards and timeframes.
Maintains openness to feedback and supervision. Attends and participates in weekly supervision and training to improve quality of service provision, and case conference for challenging individuals. Attends and participates in multidisciplinary team meetings. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or counseling psychology, with 3 years post-graduate experience in behavioral health. Must hold and maintain a Licensed Master Social Work, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy, or Licensed Professional Counselor.
Registered Play Therapist preferred. Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification or must obtain within six months of hire. Must maintain a valid driver's license; must provide a yearly DMV Certified Driving History. Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and handle confidential and sensitive matters is essential.
