Child Development Teacher (CARE)
The Baby Gator Child Development Teacher's (CARE) responsibilities include:
Maintaining a safe, healthy, and hygienic environment for all children (ages infant to 5 years).
Maintaining a learning environment that is supportive of children's growth, development and learning through age and developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
Preparing and implementing weekly lesson plans that address social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas and demonstrate respect and support of diversity in language, culture, and learning styles.
Supervising safety and educational learning while on field trips around UF campus and the Gainesville community.
Communicating and supporting parents to ensure the needs of children and families are met.
Demonstrating professional work habits, including working assigned hours, adherence to leave policies, maintaining confidentiality of child and family information; appropriate communication with colleagues and supervisors and support of special activities at Baby Gator Child Development and Research Center.
Teachers classroom assignment may be changed based on the needs of the center.
Teachers must be physically able to perform all duties related to the care and teaching of young children with reasonable accommodations, including repeated bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, lifting children up to 40 lbs, and frequent hand washing.
$11.00 to $15.25 per hour based on experience.
Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA)/FCCPC or an Associate's degree and one year of experience in an early childhood or other educational setting.
Ability to pass Child Care Background Screening as required by DCF.
Successful completion of 40 hours Child Care Training and exams required by the Department of Children and Families Services (DCF).
40 hour a week availability
CDA or FCCPC or Higher Degree
2 years of child care experience in a public school or child care facility setting
Infant/Toddler CPR Training
Active staff credential
