Requirements / Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent required A minimum of 12 Core Early Childhood Education (ECE) semester units completed with a grade of C or better required. Core courses include:

Child Growth and Development, Child Family Community, Curriculum, Elective Resume Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency. Completion of health and safety training required by Title 22 Community Care licensing regulations within probationary period. Credential and/or License:

Specialist I: Any combination equivalent to: Fifteen (15) college units of ECE/CD including core courses and experience amounting to at least fifty (50) days (minimum of three (3) hours per day) within the last two years or Alternative Qualifications including Child Development Associate Credential or other CTC approved training, completion of at least 15 hours of training on preventive health practices and successful completion of 3 or more semester units or equivalent of ECE/CD Program Administration/Staff Relations. Possession of or be eligible for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Preschool Director, the CDC Specialist is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of an inclusive and comprehensive education program for children in a classroom setting ages 0 to 5; ensures the program is developmentally appropriate for each child's individual needs and meets the program standards by Campbell Union School District, CDE's Early Learning Division Funding terms and conditions, Title 5 regulations and Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations. The CDC Specialist is responsible for providing leadership to the classroom team, maintaining positive relationships with children, families, and education team members.
