La Petite Academy in San Antonio is Hiring!

We are currently seeking a Food Specialist

for our childcare center located at 9401 Guilbeau Rd.

Our Food Specialists:

  • Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's budget, as well as state and federal requirements.

  • Prepare and serve nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for children and staff.

  • Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.

  • Have countless advancement opportunities through our on-going training and expansive network of centers and brands.

  • Are caring, compassionate and love what they do!

We are most interested in talking to applicants that have:

  • 1 year of experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferred

  • An understanding of all current state and local regulations

  • Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

  • A High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

CHILD CARE WORKER San Antonio, TX The Child Care Worker position is available in the Addiction Treatment & Recovery program of VOATX, which addresses addiction and the related issues of poverty, homelessness and trauma that arise from chemical dependency. This position is responsible for teaching parenting skills to residents and attending to the basic care, behavior management and development needs of the children residing at the treatment program. Responsibilities Include: * Supports the implementation of parenting goals as identified with the Child Development Specialist, with emphasis on modeling and teaching: * Child development, care and discipline. * Home management, including nutrition, food budgeting, purchase, and preparation. * Home and personal hygiene. * Identifying and accessing appropriate resources. * Supervises children's individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment. * Instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness, self-care, caring for own clothing, and picking up and putting away toys and books. * Provides client transportation to scheduled classes as part of the approved case plan, and provide childcare during class as needed. * Regularly documents parent-child interactions. * Coordinates children's services and provide transportation. * Advises Program Coordinator on any noted abuse and neglect, discipline, special needs, and/or emergencies and discusses appropriate action or alternatives. * Responsible for residents' care, in compliance with standards of ethics and confidentiality Qualifications: * High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). * Demonstrated ability in home management and record keeping. * Ability to mentor to residents and use positive discipline methods. * Knowledge of basic computer functions. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. * Ability to write simple correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Demonstrates high degree of integrity and ethical standards. * Must have valid Texas Driver License (Must be received within 30 days of employment) and ability to be meet company insurance requirements (with satisfactory MVR record); valid Vehicle Liability if driving personal vehicle.
