Child Care Attendant

Description

Under the direction of the Facilities Operations Manager performing short-term care of infants, toddlers and youth when placed in the childcare room. Assists in the planning, organizing and implementation of all functions of the childcare room within the Community Center.

SUPERVISION

This work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK

The Child Care Attendant is directly responsible to the Facilities Operations Manager to provide extensive child and infant care. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Planning, organizing and implementation of all functions of the childcare room within the Community Center.

Serving as a liaison between participants, parents and Parks and Recreation offices.

Leading the daily schedule of activities for infants, toddlers and youth.

Directing users in the sign in/out procedures of the babysitting room, updating medical cards on all children in the childcare room.

Education and enforcing childcare program policies and procedures.

Performing short-term care of infants, toddlers and youth when placed in the childcare room (i.e. crafts, games, and first aid, etc)

Communication with supervisors, manager on duty, and the public.

Evaluating programs and making recommendations as needed.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WORK

Must be at least 18 years old.

American Red Cross Community CPR Certified.

American Red Cross First Aid Certified.
