Child Care Assistant - Toddler Center

Currently, a vacancy for a full-time Child Care Assistant position exists within the Toddler Center-Coatesville in the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This is a 182 day position, working with infants and toddlers in Coatesville, PA.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Associate's degree and/or CDA strongly preferred and required within one year. Tuition reimbursement available upon start.

• Minimum of (2) two years experience in early childhood education with a demonstrated ability to relate well to children required

• Current police, child abuse, NSOR & FBI Fingerprint clearances required

• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with the establishment and maintenance of a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment.

• Assist with the development of social, emotional physical, behavioral and intellectual competence of children using curriculum and materials that are developmentally appropriate.

• Assist with the establishment of positive and productive relationships with families by maintaining a cooperative and open atmosphere and respecting confidentiality at all times.

• Assist with program development and an enriching environment utilizing the recommended curriculum and the PA Early Learning Standards.

• Maintain a commitment to professionalism and professional development by participating in PD and required childcare training courses to maintain center in the Keystone STARS system and to meet DPW requirements.

• Ability to effectively present information to children and communicate with supervisors and co-workers.

• Ability to establish positive and productive relationships with children, supervisors, co-workers, parents and the school/work community.

2023-2024 Salary Range:

$15.63 to $16.53 per hour

Early Childhood Education Center, Coatesville

Schedule:

7.5 hours per day; 5 days per week; 182 days a year, SVS (Step 1 or 2)
