Who You Are:

Catholic Medical Center is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher to support our lead and associate teachers in creating a nurturing and developmentally appropriate educational environment. You are dedicated to fostering cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth in children, while ensuring a safe and stimulating space. You meet the State of NH qualifications for an assistant teacher and are committed to maintaining current certifications and ongoing training.

What You'll Do:

• Support the implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans.
• Help maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment, including disinfecting and sanitization.
• Assist in managing classroom behaviors and promote a positive emotional climate through guidance techniques.
• Collaborate with other staff to create a professional work environment and model healthy interactions for the children.
• Follow state-mandated child/teacher ratios and report any concerns to administration promptly.

What You'll Bring:

• High school diploma or GED preferred; current high school students will be considered.
• Must meet State of NH qualifications for an assistant teacher (at least 16 years old, supervised by qualified staff, documented approval if alone with children). Notwithstanding above, assistant teachers shall only be alone with a child or group of children if the following conditions are met: (1) The center director has approved the specific assistant teacher to do this, with approval documented in the employee's file; (2) The employee has been deemed eligible to work pursuant to RSA.
• Ongoing training (18 or 12 hours annually) relevant to the classroom, plus current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of NH childcare regulations and St. Peter's Home policies.
• Physical ability to exert up to 20 pounds and engage in activities such as standing, kneeling, and sitting with children.
