the Child Care Aide works in the child care center providing child care and completing related tasks. The Child Care Aide functions as a team member in providing total care of the children enrolled at World of Care.

Responsibilities
1.Function as a team member to provide a warm, nurturing environment for each child; model and encourage developmentally appropriate practices as outlined by MSDE and the WOC Handbook and Philosophy Checklist
2.Read each child's Child Care Plan before working with any child and ask for clarifying information as needed.
3.Assist individual children and small groups with: developmentally appropriate activities, classroom strategies and therapy.
4.Prepare and assist with daily care of infants and toddlers, including but not limited to children's hygiene, mealtimes, sleeping, and play.
5.Maintain regular communication with all team members, including nurses and therapists as necessary, to assure that parents/caregivers are receiving all information regarding their child's daily progress, needs and concerns.
6.Complete all assigned tasks related to center operations, such as cleaning and preparation of materials

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred or high school student in good standing

  • Ninety hours (90) Early Childhood Education Certificate preferred.

  • Forty-five (45) hours Infant Toddler Certificate preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience with children preferred.

VIEW JOBS 4/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-13T00:00 19 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Board for the Certification of Child Care Program Professionals, Baltimore, MD Main Purpose of Job This is an executive level management position that reports director to the Board for the Certification of Child Care Program Administrators and Child and Youth Care Practitioners to administer the statutory mandates of the Board. This position requires extensive knowledge of management, budget, compliance and planning as well as a high level of analytical skill. The principle duty of this position is to direct a staff of 2 individuals to develop, evaluate and implement the administrative procedures to ensure that the Board fulfils it's mandated responsibilities. The Board's statutory responsibilities include licensure, disciplinary, legislative, regulatory, public information, fiscal and general administrative functions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires a bachelor's degree and six years of administrative or professional experience, three of which at a supervisory or management level. A master's degree will substitute for one year of general experience. Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree.
