A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPIST SUPERVISOR
As a Child and Family Therapist Supervisor, you are at the heart of what we do. You both oversee the clinicians who provide services to the children and families and provide direct services yourself.
Your day-to-day interactions with clients and other professionals demonstrate a solid understanding of the systemic and strength-based practice. You create a therapeutic milieu for children and families where individual, group, and family therapy is provided in a trauma-informed setting.
By overseeing the billable expectations and assignment of the caseload, you manage the workflow of your assigned staff. You train and support clinicians in their roles.
Under your leadership, they are inspired to embrace our model and make a real difference in the lives of children and families. Your style of management fosters teamwork, respect, accountability, and trust. Conscientiously, you ensure that documentation meets agency and licensing standards. You also carefully review assessments and service plans.
As an agency liaison for your department, you assist referral sources, clients, and families with client care issues and concerns. You also coordinate with remote site location personnel.
Engaged in evidence-based practice, you continually research therapeutic interventions relevant to the populations served. You participate in program development through committee memberships. You get great satisfaction out of helping to facilitate a sanctuary of hope and healing for children!
Fully licensed as a therapist in North Carolina with no licensure restrictions, and the authorization to diagnose mental illnesses and addictive disorders
The authorization to supervise associate-level (provisionally licensed) staff
3 years of experience as a counselor working with children and families required
2 years of supervisory experience preferred
Working knowledge of the child and family mental health system in North Carolina
Certification in at least one to two EBPs highly preferred (i.e. TF-CBT, EMDR, CBT, DBT, etc.)
Ability to adhere to our commitment to the Sanctuary Model of Care, S.E.L.F Model, self-care, the seven sanctuary commitments, and their respective tools
Valid Driver's License, and must be willing to travel to various job related locations.
Effective October 1, 2021 Crossnore Communities for Children will begin requiring new hires (excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption) to be vaccinated for COVID 19 as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees, youth and families served.

Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and participates in a clinician rotation schedule that provides 24-hour clinical on-call services for the agency. Schedule may fluctuate based on client schedules.
