ABOUT STEP
The Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress (STEP) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca Family of Agencies located in Solano, CA. STEP provides intensive, short-term and stabilization services enabling youth to reintegrate into school and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.
YOUR ROLE
Seneca operates a wide variety of programs, including school-based programs, community-based programs, and crisis services and is looking for qualified child psychiatrists eager to work within multi-disciplinary teams in collaborative, innovative settings which are client and family-focused. Physicians also enjoy being part of a growing and supportive department of physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses within the greater agency. Our clients include children, adolescents, and the Transitional Age Youth population. The Kaiser STEP program primarily serves adolescents.
While a majority of the hours are required to be in-person, a portion of hours may be provided via telehealth. Please inquire for more information.
ABOUT THE PROCESS
As a Joint Commission accredited behavioral health organization, all consulting psychiatrists must undergo a credentialing process, and early applications are encouraged even for future openings. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled. We are continuing to expand! New updated contract rates now available, including adjustments for board certifications or bilingualism, please inquire for further information! Travel stipends also offered for extended commutes!
Responsibilities
Complete initial and ongoing evaluations of clients to determine medication and treatment needs
Prescribe and monitor medications
Provide consultation and education to treatment staff regarding medication use as part of the treatment regimen
Maintain timely and accurate paperwork and health insurance documentation
Additional responsibilities as by the Program Director, Assistant Program Director and/or Agency Medical Director
Qualifications
Board eligibility or certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry
Active California Medical License, Current and Valid DEA Certificate
Successful completion of Seneca's credentialing process
Proof of liability insurance
TB test clearance, fingerprint clearances, and any other State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
Valid California driver's license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster required
Schedule
Approximately 16 hours per week
Hybrid (in-person and online) work schedule
Benefits
Starting $250 to $270 per hour, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
