Chief Strategic Communications & Branding Officer
As the Chief Strategic Communications & Branding Officer, you will help to lead the development and execution of Brigham Young University's comprehensive branding and communication strategies.
What you'll do in this position:
Under direction of the Advancement Vice President, helps to oversee the university's comprehensive branding strategies aligned with the organization's goals and values.
Under direction of the Advancement Vice President, helps to oversee the university's strategic communication plans to ensure alignment and engagement among employees at all levels of the organization.
Direct the assessment by establishing metrics and KPIs to track the effectiveness of branding and communication initiatives and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
Help to lead those involved in branding and strategic communication at the enterprise level.
Help to lead the University Strategic Communications Committee.
As invited, engage with communications counterparts at the Church that may include senior church communication leaders.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
An advanced degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
7+ years' experience in branding, strategic communications, marketing, or public relations roles, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility including 5 years' experience in a leadership or managerial position.
Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Deep understanding of branding principles, strategies, and best practices. Experience in developing and implementing successful brand strategies that drive business growth and enhance brand reputation.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute long-term branding and communications strategies aligned with overall enterprise goals. Experience with market research, competitor analysis, and trend forecasting to inform strategic decision-making.
Strong emotional intelligence, judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages tailored to different audiences and communication channels. Strong storytelling abilities and the capability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve organizational objectives. Experience in building and leading high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and promoting a positive work culture.
