Job Description: The Chief Stationary Engineer reports to the Director of Facilities Management and is responsible for direction and supervision of the Facilities Engineering staff for planning, monitoring of utilities, maintenance of life safety systems and medical support systems.
The Chief Stationary Engineer is also responsible for administering maintenance programs for the physical plant to ensure a safe comfortable, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and families. Some project management is required, overseen by the department director.
Minimum Education: Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training. #Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
A.A. degree preferred. Minimum Experience: #1 or more years as a Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer, including over 5 years as a journeyman Stationary Engineer or similar trade. License Required:
Universal EPA Refrigeration license Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong central plant skills, daily operations of building computerized management system, computerized equipment, inventory/equipment management systems and standby emergency power systems. #ATS, main medical gas distribution and alarm monitoring systems, main electrical distribution systems, boilers, steam supply/condensate systems, DX /chilled water systems, pneumatic controls and transportation distribution systems, life safety support systems.
Technical Knowledge:
