Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree. A minimum of four years of professionally responsible administrative experience in construction management or skilled trades experience to include supervisory experience is required. A certificate issued by the State of Florida or Miami-Dade County as a General Contractor or General Building Contractor may substitute for the required education

This is highly responsible, professional and administrative work in planning, directing, coordinating, and providing oversight over a variety of construction and facility maintenance projects and operations for the Construction and Maintenance Division within the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
The Chief will be responsible for developing service objectives, coordinating and managing divisional operations, and directing work program plans and studies. Oversight is provided for all services within boundaries from the North (Broward County line) to the South (Miami-Dade County line). South (Miami-Dade County line). Responsibilities include establishing, reviewing, and coordinating procedures so that optimum service is achieved.
The chief reviews and makes decisions or final recommendations relating to the total budget for the Department as well as monitors the capital development program provided by various funding initiatives directly affecting operations. Responsibilities include directing, development, and delivery; strategic planning, relationship management, personnel management / administration, financial resource management; procurement, contract management, budget coordination, performance management, and management of the division's business plan.
