Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree. A minimum of four years of experience in the administration and management of a municipal aquatic system is required.
Must possess a valid Driver s license. Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends on a varied work schedule.

This is highly responsible, professional and administrative work in planning, directing, coordinating, and providing oversight over the Miami-Dade County's Office of Drowning Prevention Division.
The Chief will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising diversified countywide operations in the provision of water safety, drowning prevention and learn-to-swim education to the public. Emphasis of the work is on providing administrative direction and coordination of an inclusive county-wide drowning prevention program.
Incumbents exercise a considerable degree of independent judgment and professional managerial knowledge in planning and the directing of learn-to-swim and aquatic facility operations. Responsibilities include directing, development, and delivery; strategic planning, relationship management, personnel management / administration, financial resource management; procurement, contract management, budget coordination, performance management, and management of the division's business plan.
