Job Title: Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for performance of all SIC Business Units and oversee ongoing operations and procedures. The COO is key member of the Senior Management Team and reports directly to the President & CEO. COO will manage risk for SIC and is expected to be an experienced and efficient leader.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Make sure SIC Core Values are understood and followed by all personnel
Establish polices and promote company culture and vision
Design and implement business strategies, plan and procedures
Ensure Safety and QA/QC procedures are followed by all
Work with CEO to set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Work with General Managers to make certain the right resources are available and assigned to each of our projects
Experience as a project manager and solid understanding of construction project management skills
Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Participate in expansion activities such as acquisitions
Oversee corporate labor and equipment dispatch
Proven experience as COO or similar role
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Skilled decision maker and problem solver
Work with HR to establish succession plans for key management and field supervisory positions and make sure succession plan is in place at all business units
Work with recruiting and training to provide our customers with world class craftsmen
Identify future SIC leaders within the company and work with HR to develop those team members
Responsible for managing the sharing of resources across various SIC business units
Work with General Managers to identify SIC resources required to execute projects that are available
Participate in bid reviews for larger projects and assist management team to access risk and proper pricing
Visit project sites frequently to ensure morale is high and field management is getting support required to be successful
Work with Support Services (SS) to make sure training plans are what we need to advance skill set of field personnel and assist SS to modify as required
Oversee large complex field activities and make certain we have a safe plan of execution including the right craft and supervision
Oversee all SIC Equipment, tools, and vehicles
Manage & Oversee maintenance and repairs of all equipment
Responsible for annual equipment budget and recommendations for capital equipment purchases
Performs other duties as required
College Degree in Engineering or Construction preferred.
20+ years of experience in construction industry but ideally industrial construction with executive leadership experience and P&L responsibility
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated proficiency building and maintaining positive professional relationships
Intermediate computer skills or better in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
