As Chief of Staff (COS), you will report to the CIO and Chief of Operations, Enterprise Business and Technology Services (EBTS). You will work side by side, often in confidence, serving as a critical extension of the CIO and Chief of Operation's vision, leadership and voice. You will connect dots, elevate insights and trends, and generate ideas. You will be a key driver of any number of strategic initiatives and to ensure collaboration, communication, financial planning, and project delivery. Independent leadership of initiatives through planning, organizing & executing on projects in furtherance of the strategic goals for EBTS, in alignment with the One Guardian strategy.
As COS, you'll possess a broad view of the organizational issues and the department, understanding key stakeholders and owners of the various initiatives. You will lead in the areas of strategic direction, employee engagement, department meetings and department-wide communications. Together with the CIO and Chief of Operations, you will work on relationships and activities with the company's Board of Directors, CEO and the Executive Leadership Team as well as with other key external consultants, business partners, legislative and regulatory entities. You will serve as a communications bridge between the CIO and Chief of Operations and the leaders reporting into him, ensuring clarity around key deliverables and timelines. You strategically manage the CIO and Chief of Operation's time with respect to organizational priorities, goals and objectives which includes managing the rate and volume of information forwarded.
Be a key partner in developing communications to internal and external audiences in close partnership with the Communications team. Offers strategic insights into key themes and messaging based on business context and priorities of the organization.
Develop external relationships, as appropriate, to identify and keep abreast of emerging trends and opportunities in EBTS.
Take a leadership role with the EBTS leadership team, coordinating timely and topical events and process management to ensure that time and impact is maximized.
Assist with driving the overall EBTS strategy aligned to the overall One Guardian Strategy.
Manage the initiatives of the EBTS Engagement Committee to ensure alignment with overall cultural and strategic direction.
Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others in respectful manner; tact & diplomacy are essential.
Encourage collaboration and sharing/adoption of best practices.
Maintain the highest levels of integrity and discretion and demonstrate commitment to service and support.
Develop strong, trusting business relationships at all levels and be regarded as a trusted partner to the CIO & Chief of Operations.
A self-starter with superior problem-solving, analytical, follow-through and organizational skills and a track record for high performance and superior delivery.
Adaptable, flexible, and able to lead/manage the organization through change.

An undergraduate degree required.
Strong quantitative and qualitative skills; detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture and to work effectively at both high and detailed levels.
Capacity to synthesize complex information from disparate sources into a clear compelling story that helps the organization commit to action.
Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts in-the-course of work as well as to produce high volumes of quality work product on concurrent projects under deadline pressures.
Ability to work with and influence others with different priorities and at varying levels in organization.
Proven mentoring and coaching skills with ability to develop others.
Strong business acumen combined with solid relationship development skills, effectively interfacing with senior executive.
Superior project management skills combined with strong oral and written communication skills. S/he will have a demonstrated acumen to synthesize and prioritize ranging issues and activities, thus be highly effective in formulating coordinated and well-communicated action plans and activities with, and on behalf of, the CIO and Chief of Operations.
