The Chief of Staff (CoS) serves as a strategic advisor and right-hand to the CEO driving key initiatives, optimizing operations, and ensuring alignment across teams. This role requires a highly organized, adaptable, and strategic thinker who can manage priorities, facilitate decision-making, and enhance organizational efficiency. Key priorities for the role include:
- Balancing the external and internal priorities of the CEO
- Facilitating the gathering of data to support fact-based decision making
- Strategic management of the CEO's schedule, ensuring alignment with key priorities
The Chief of Staff handles a wide range of matters of institutional importance and is expected to work closely with executive management to ensure accountability, execution, and delivery of critical organizational objectives. This individual acts as a thought partner and advisor to the CEO; oversees and drives cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals; supports long-term planning, goal setting, and execution of strategic priorities, and anticipates challenges and provide solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
The Chief of Staff will also manage early relationships with external stakeholders after initial interactions with the CEO with the goal of creating new business opportunities for ETS. This position reports directly to the CEO and manages his executive admin staff.
The successful candidate should be located in the Washington DC to NYC corridor and be willing to travel to ETS offices as needed for key meetings and events
Responsibilities:
- Create consistent and systematic processes for meetings, actively support the CEO in meetings and guide participants to actionable items to ensure timely completion of projects, follow up, and execution to allow for the best use of time. Serves as steward of highly confidential information and acts as a trustworthy liaison between the CEO and internal and external stakeholders on assigned matters
- Oversee and monitor the successful execution of strategic initiatives. Utilize data and insights to develop recommendations that drive business results and expedite CEO decision making.
- Guide CEO Executive Assistants to ensure appropriate scheduling prioritization and efficient strategic meeting scheduling
- Coordinate with Business Development. To prioritize CEO time regarding external opportunities and assist as needed in internal coordination to support such activities.
- Partner directly with Internal Communications and Public and Government Relations teams to strategize effective internal and external executive communications and speaking engagements for CEO
- Oversees special projects for the CEO in support of organizational priorities that fall outside the scope of traditional departments and other duties as assigned.
Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required or equivalent combination of training and work experience is required.
- An MBA, master's, or advanced degree preferred, not required
Relevant Years of Experience Required:
- 5+ years broad business and project management experience driving execution and adoption of strategic programs
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced and high-demand environment
- Proven creative thinker with strong business acuity and ability to champion innovative ideas that contribute to organizational success
