POSITION: Full-Time Chief of Staff (Executive Director): President's Office; Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours per week; Non-Unit Professional Position SUMMARY: Serves as the Chief of Staff to the President, playing a pivotal role in providing leadership and operational oversight to the Office of the President, contributing to the achievement of NECC's mission and goals. Partners with the President, Leadership Cabinet members, and various constituencies to drive the strategic vision of the college, enhance community relations, and optimize resources.
The Chief of Staff has the unique opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of Northern Essex Community College under the leadership of the President. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Planning and Leadership
Collaborate with President and Leadership Cabinet members to advance the college's strategic plan, fostering a coordinated approach to achieving NECC's mission, vision, and goals. Internal and External Relations
Represent President with various stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees, government officials, business partners, community leaders, other external entities, faculty, staff, students, alumni and internal College volunteer boards. Operational Efficiency
Counsel and advise the President on day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and optimal resource allocation, including budget management for the President's Office. Communications
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications department to develop executive-level communications, including speeches, reports, presentations, and other materials that effectively convey NECC's mission and accomplishments. Information Flow
Serve as the liaison for the Office of the President, ensuring the accurate, proper, and timely flow of information both to and from the President's Office. Community Engagement
Foster positive relations and engagement with local communities, promoting NECC's role as a valuable partner in the region. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Counsels the President - provides a sounding board, advice on sensitive and confidential matters and ensures the President has all the information necessary to make informed decisions. Provides excellent judgment, diplomacy, and understanding of college issues to support the President. Serves as liaison between the President and the College to ensure a coordinated approach to initiatives across campus.
Serves as liaison to the College Board of Trustees including program support activities and matters of institutional significance for the Board on behalf of, and in concert with, the President. Builds and nurtures relationships to serve as a resource for the President and point of contact as designated for key constituents to resolve complex issues and help move forward strategic priorities. Represents the President and the college in various civic, community and professional organizations at the local, state, and national level.
Oversees and supervises all activities related to the position of Office Manager and any other roles within the President's office. Help ensure all special projects receive the project management and/or supervision from the internal or external teams as needed, as directed by the President. Fields all student inquiries/complaints directed to President's Office and works with relevant departments and staff to address.
Notify President as necessary. Serves as the President's liaison to the college's Compliance Committee. As such, he/she is responsible for monitoring all college compliance efforts and related activities on a continuous basis.
Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in a higher education or non-profit setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent the President effectively. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Budget management experience. Commitment to integrity and NECC's mission. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $115,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.
