Job Description:

Reporting to the EVP and Chief Marketing Officer the Chief of Staff will help lead complex projects and will serve as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders across all areas of the organization. The Chief of Staff will manage strategic projects, conduct research and prepare briefings, coordinate internal and external communications activities, manage and track progress against key organizational objectives, and lead change management initiatives.

The Chief of Staff will act as a senior-level partner working directly with the CMO, Marketing leadership team members, and ELT leaders to help drive an effective business cadence. The role will help conduct reviews for strategic and cross-functional planning and projects; communicate marketing strategy and decision-making to the management team, other partners and key stakeholders; and represent the CMO as a proxy.

Responsibilities:

  • Run core operations/business cadence and drive the executive rhythm of business, including all QBRs and other key business meetings.

  • Develop and execute Marketing operational cadence by developing effective business review agendas, coordinating briefing materials, and ensuring that critical follow-up actions are documented, completed, and results recorded in a timely and effective manner.

  • Lead short-term and long-term strategic projects, including cross-functional project team leadership. Communicate findings from initiatives to senior management and the broader organization. Provide regular competitive and trending news/insights on the business and competitive landscape.

  • Establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing cross-functional initiatives. Proactively identify trends and issues across the organization and recommend and/or develop programs and processes to solve them.

  • Provide insightful, data-driven, strategic recommendations to the CMO, and act as proxy on key business initiatives and issues.

  • Coordinate Marketing leadership team responses effectively and with urgency when time-sensitive and confidential business challenges arise.

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders (Finance, HR, Communications, etc.) as they drive business imperatives designed to improve overall organizational effectiveness across the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in business administration, finance, engineering, or equivalent practical experience. MBA or graduate degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of professional experience with operational/execution experience, including knowledge and familiarity with marketing, sales, services, technology, and business operations.

  • Significant experience in customer-facing roles, preferably with direct Product, Sales, and/or Marketing experience.

  • Program management experience across multiple functions including Sales, Marketing, and/or Finance. Demonstrated success operationalizing strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with significant ambiguity and constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across functional areas based on trust, integrity, and high degree of organizational awareness.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate strategy and influence others through written, graphical, presentation, verbal and other communication channels.

  • Executive maturity, people and team management experience, and experience leading in a matrix environment.

  • Strong business acumen, excellent judgment and critical thinking skills, and drive for results.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with technology and the enterprise software industry, including current trends such as Cloud, Mobility, and IoT.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
