Position Summary:

Advisor with engaging personality, good business sense and judgment who has the ability to think strategically and look around the corner to organize, prioritize and plan to support the President and COO in meeting preparation, decision-making, task prioritization, speech writing and communicating, etc. Individual should be a highly collaborative self-starter who has the ability to work independently and enjoys finding ways to improve things without direction. The Chief of Staff for the President & COO's Office is responsible for being a strategic adviser, partner, implementer, and ensures streamlined activities within the organization based on priorities of the President & COO.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to the President & COO and leadership team to drive decision and align activities with strategic business objectives; sometimes representing the President & COO in high-level meetings and discussions, and ensuring clear action items and follow-through

  • Partners with the President & COO to prioritize work and resources

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders and executives to develop and streamline dashboards for the President & COO office

  • Collaborates with the President and COO's Office to support strategic planning of internal and external yearly events and speaking engagements, media opportunities, as well as team meetings.

  • Lead the development and identification of events and speaking engagements and media opportunities for team in collaboration with Corporate Communications

  • Partners closely with the Corporate Communication team to prepare and review internal and external communications coming from the President and COO's Office including companywide communications, reports, meeting presentations, and speeches.

  • Serve as liaison between crewmembers, executives, senior leaders, and CEO, regarding project updates, proposals, communications and meeting planning

  • Leads and coordinates the research of emerging issues that require action or direction from the President & COO.

  • Review and assess inquiries directed to the President and COO, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage while effectively driving efforts for strategic and ad hoc initiatives

  • Coordinates & attends key staff and team meetings as required, prepares agenda and meeting minutes as needed. Independent follow-up on action items from meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field

  • Six (6) experience in a business or executive management role

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Highly organized individual with relentless follow up and proven experience working in a cross functional environment

  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

  • Proven track record of effectively presenting and interacting with senior leadership

  • Previous project management and decision making experience

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Available for frequent overnight travel (30%)

  • In possession of valid travel document with the ability to travel in and out of the United States

  • Able to work flexible hours and be available for an emergency response on short notice

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree

  • Previous airline or transportation experience

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Proven ability to influence change

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

  • Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

  • Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

  • Upholding JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
