The Chief of Staff position will report to Gresham's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will be a key member of the team that plans, coordinates and executes Grehsam's people strategy. The individual works closely with the CEO, the COO and the assigned HR business partner, with benefits, compensation, talent acquisitions and talent management to achieve these goals.

The Chief of Staff is responsible for insuring that the CEO is fully briefed and prepared for day-to-day professional interactions as it relates to employees and employment-related decisions and liasing with the HR Business Partner to ensure clear understanding and delivery of HR-related strategies and services.

This is a part time position, working approximately two days per week (16 hours).


  • Oversee and participate in the strategic business planning & implementation, collaborating closely with CEO, CFO and Nuveen HRBP to ensure stated goals and objectives are executed

  • Participate in the Gresham Leadership Team

  • Project management and initiative execution on all phases of assigned initiatives, working with appropriate business areas as necessary.

  • Work closely with CEO, COO, Finance and HRBP to communicate goal and performance reviews and goal setting, bonuses and compensation changes

  • Conduct strategic reviews of Gresham policies, procedures and employee handbook needs, creating and implementing changes as needed

  • Act as liason with HRBP and talent acquisition team to fill open positions

  • Review financial & sales reports and industry data on a periodic basis, prepare reports, trend analysis and executive

  • General management experience in finance, business or human resources

  • Demonstrated ability influencing the business strategy and shaping HR strategic direction

  • Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and high level of comfort/ease interacting with all levels of the organization, up to and including Executive Committee

  • Demonstrated ability to:

  • Deliver results in a fast-paced environment, which often requires the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Solve problems and think strategically/critically

  • Be proactive and have a comfort level with working in an often-ambiguous environment, anticipating needs and staying out ahead of them

  • Collaborate, plan and organize with and through people to gather information from across the organization and write/ create cohesive documents to make business recommendations

  • Extremely organized with unfailing attention to detail

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with ability to formulate clear and concise executive "messages" to internal and external audiences from complex topics:

  • Financial/quantitative data analysis

  • Exceptional PowerPoint and Excel a must (demonstrating advanced use of charts, graphs)

Requirements & Education

  • The ideal individual will possess and BA/BS undergraduate degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a complex project management and/or chief of staff role

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office
