Freddie Mac's Enterprise Risk Management Division (ERM) is an independent second line of defense function responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of an effective risk management framework in line with Federal Housing Finance Agency ('FHFA') expectations. The Chief of Staff (CoS) team who supports the Chief Enterprise Risk Officer. CoS team's mission is to establish a unified and efficient service organization to provide a holistic and strategic view of development, business administration and communications and to help drive people and culture initiatives across ERM.

The ERM Governance Manager reports to the ERM Governance Director and supports and facilitates various divisional activities. Specific responsibilities will include:

Governance

  • Support ERM's engagement with Regulators, Internal Audit and other regulatory and oversight parties

  • Support the monitoring of issues remediation across ERM

  • Assist with the facilitation of ERO Monthly Risk Update

  • Assist with development and maintenance of the Divisional Risk Objectives

  • Assist with Divisional Risk Objectives periodic assessment

  • Participate in establishing and maintaining ERMs Business Continuity Plan

  • Assist with the facilitation of ERO Operating Monthly meetings with the LOBs

  • Perform research on risk management focused topics and best practices

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 6+ years of experience in risk management at a large financial services institution(s)

  • Strong knowledge and experience in risk management, covering the full lifecycle of activities, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations related to risk management (e.g., Basel and FHFA)

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse group of stakeholders

  • Ability to motivate and inspire action through interpersonal skills

  • Proactive leadership

  • Ability to work in ambiguity and inspire growth and change

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability

The ERF team is responsible for defining and advancing the enterprise risk framework at Freddie Mac. The Risk Governance Reporting Manager reports to the Risk Governance and Reporting Director and is strategically focused with primary responsibility for managing risk governance. Specific areas of focus are planning, communication and execution of Risk Reporting, including the quarterly Enterprise and Board Risk Committee reporting process. Will have direct interaction with the Chief Risk Officer and Senior Risk Leaders, with holistic and strategic view of risk profile and issues. In this role, you will have direct interaction with the Chief Risk Officer and Senior Risk Leaders. The position provides a unique opportunity to develop a holistic and strategic view of the risk profile and issues.
