Chief Of Public Community Relations

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Chief of Public & Community Relations plays a key role in fostering strong relationships between the school district and the community. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage parents, community members, and stakeholders in the educational process to support student success. Additionally, the Chief of Public & Community Relations will monitor, maintain, and engage with all social media, internal, and external media outlets to ensure effective communication and engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement plan that aligns with the district's goals and values.

• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure effective communication with the community.

• Organize and facilitate community events, meetings, and forums to promote collaboration and partnership.

• Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, and leaders to support school initiatives.

• Oversee volunteer programs and opportunities for community involvement in schools.

• Provide support and resources to parents and families to enhance their engagement in their child's education.

• Monitor, maintain, and engage with all social media, internal, and external media outlets to ensure timely and relevant communication.

• Create and share engaging content on social media platforms to promote district initiatives and events.

• Respond to inquiries and comments on social media channels promptly and professionally.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of social media and media strategies and make recommendations for improvement.

• Serve as a liaison between the school district and external stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community groups.

• Stay informed about community needs, concerns, and trends to inform decision-making and planning.

• Experience in community engagement, public relations, or community development.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Knowledge of K-12 education systems and issues.

• Leadership and project management skills.

• Experience working in a school district or educational organization preferred.

• Proficient in social media management and content creation.

CERTIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in education, Communication, Public Relations, or related field.
