Job Description:

The National

Solutions Group at Leidos currently has an anticipated opening for a Chief of Engineering to support

a client's requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Northern Virginia area. The

position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance and is

contingent upon program award.

The Chief of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing

engineering and maintenance teams in support of a 24/7 operations environment

and is the focal point for making decisions on the planning and execution of engineering

and maintenance activities in support of mission operation. The Chief

of Engineering will work in a highly collaborative environment with teammates,

key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and

support to the IC community.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical oversight across all

operational engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring necessary

engineering, maintenance, and customer processes are in place and are being

adhered to for all work in the operational environment.

  • Works with program senior leadership and other

support staff to manage resolutions for all operational anomalies.

  • Provides direction and risk assessment for

operational change activities and represents the program at customer meetings

and stand-ups.

  • Leads technical planning, system

hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and

validation, and fielding.

  • Evaluates alternatives including cost

and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

  • Performs systems requirements analysis,

functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation

and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing,

and quality assurance.

  • Resolves highly complex problems using

significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and

interpretation.

  • Develops solutions that are highly

innovative, and achieved through research and integration of best practices. TT

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you

must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below

  • Bachelor's degree, 15 years operations-related engineering

experience, and 2 years operations-related engineering with this IC customers program(s). (Customer Requirement)

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph is required

  • Has in-depth understanding of technical

principles, theories, concepts and their application across range of programs. Serves as a subject matter expert within technical domain area.

  • Ability

to communicate with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding

matters of significant importance to the organization/project. Works to

convince others to accept areas view/current practices and agree/accept new

concepts, practices and approaches.

  • Experience

in a 24/7 operations environment

  • Ability

to develop solutions to complex problems that require the regular use if

ingenuity and innovation

  • Strong

teamwork skills - the ability to interact productively with end users, contract

partners, and customers in a diverse team setting

  • Experience

leading a team with diverse skill sets

  • Experience

managing a configuration management

  • Experience

in preparing customer and/or management level briefings

  • Experience

with software/hardware maintenance

  • Excellent written and

verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a

fast-paced, collaborative team environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft

Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)

  • Demonstrated ability as a

team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships

with team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with site and

customer engineering processes

  • Familiarity with national

systems missions and concepts

Continuous
