TEGNA has an immediate opening for a Producer / Editor with strong editorial judgement and video storytelling skills to join the growing VERIFY team. VERIFY is a news brand dedicated to stopping the spread of misinformation and answering our audience's questions about what's true and false. Since being created by a group of TEGNA journalists in 2016, VERIFY has grown into a popular daily franchise that airs across TEGNA's 51 local newsrooms and digital properties. In 2021, TEGNA is expanding VERIFY to include dedicated digital products, increased TV production and a robust social media presence. The Producer / Editor must be able to take a story from concept to publish, doing all the research, writing and editing for both video and text content.


  • Identify and pitch daily and long-term story ideas that fit the VERIFY brand and format

  • Research, conceptualize, write and edit VERIFY videos for use across multiple platforms

  • Write digital stories for the VERIFY website and distribute those stories across TEGNA station websites

  • Produce quick turn VERIFY videos for major live news events like debates, speeches, etc.

  • Collaborate with audience team to optimize and distribute VERIFY content across multiple platforms

  • Evolve the VERIFY storytelling format to fit new platforms while staying true to VERIFY's brand

  • Perform other tasks as required by the VERIFY team


  • Impeccable news judgement and journalistic integrity

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent experience in the field

  • Two to three years of experience working as a producer / editor; experience in a fact-checking role preferred

  • Experience creating content for Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat

  • Adobe Photoshop and Premiere a must, After Effects preferred

  • Strong writing and video production

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to take direction well, but also motivated and capable of handling a project from start to finish

  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours

JOB SUMMARY Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the Chief Engineer is to ensure guests have an excellent experience through managing the engineering department and supervising maintenance operations while exhibiting leadership, integrity, initiative, composure, decision making skills, flexibility and adaptability in relation to business needs and crisis. Work Performed: The Chief Engineer will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: * Lead, develop, and train a diverse and effective team in accordance with Atrium Core Values. * Manage engineering associates by ensuring they understand employment practices, recommending employment decisions and corrective action, supporting performance management, and implementing discipline. * Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies. * Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems and other equipment throughout the hotel. * Participate in the development of the engineering and Capital budget, which at times involves strategic agility and sound planning capability. * Create work schedules while managing and measuring departmental needs and productivity. * Oversee preventative maintenance assignments and the execution of Capital projects in partnership with the Atrium capital team. * Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and all relevant Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. * Track guest room requests for servicing and ensuring completion. * Serve as the head of the property's loss prevention and risk management programs, managing the hotel loss prevention committees and ensuring all life safety systems are code compliant with the brand and the authority having jurisdiction (i.e. Fire Marshall, Building Inspector, etc.). * Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management. and * Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: * Required Prior Experience: * 5+ years of engineering experience to include mechanical, electrical and plumbing. * Prior supervisory/leadership experience. * Prior responsibility for a department budget with a fundamental understanding of a P&L statement, labor costs and other R&M expenses * Experience in managing utilities and energy systems * Understanding of capital planning and replacement cycles * Experience with NFPA fire code and life safety systems, controls Preferred Prior Experience: * Experience working with industrial laundry and kitchen equipment. * Prior hotel experience Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in related field Preferred Licenses/ Certification: Certifications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC Required Technology: * Knowledge of computer equipment, basic telephony and IT background. * Ability to use web-based applications for ordering, scheduling, CMMS systems experience.
