Chief Medical Officer

Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.

Completed post-graduate training in an approved residency program sufficient to qualify for board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Masters or postgraduate degree and/or certification/specialized training in healthcare administration or related field preferred. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the clinical practice of medicine in their specialty. Active in medical staff functions of at least one hospital to gain knowledge of medical staff activities, functions, and responsibilities.

Knowledge of the workings and requirements of regulatory, federal, and state agencies to function as a liaison for the medical staff. Previous experience in a medical staff leadership position preferred. Desirable to possess licensure as a physician in the state of Georgia.

Board certified in a medical specialty recognized by the ABMS. Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
